Job description, responsibilities and dutiesHello,We are looking for a cool colleague who will fit into our team. We hope you will be a positive person who wants to make a difference in Slovakia.Currently we are hiring PR & MEDIA COORDINATOR who will be able to set up a modern, fresh, and visually attractive communication towards the members of the chamber and the general professional public, and gain the relevant public visibility of the policy pillars initiatives and events.If you like working independently and would like to take care that AmCham is viewed as an organization which contributes to the development of a healthy business climate and which improves conditions in order to increase the quality of everyday life in the country, YOU are the person we would love to have in our AmCham crew!The main roles of PR and Media Coordinator are:
- Designing external communication strategy
- Promotion of strategic pillars initiatives related to innovation, rule of law, talent & education, and regional development
- Working individually with journalists from various media – contacts print, radio, television, and online media sources to offer interesting and current policy content which AmCham produces.
- Pro-active communication, content creation (written, audio & video)
- Monitoring of the Slovak press and media outcomes, keeping overview of Slovak policy and business trends • Actively search for media partnerships
- Project Leader for PODCAST – AmCHAT with business leaders:
- Organizing press conferences, press points, and press briefings that are related to economic, social, healthcare, educational, and other important topics
- Preparing Press Releases that are tight to AmCham events or other AmCham efforts and initiatives, all in cooperation with AmCham Policy Team
- Ensuring media visibility of key experts for the professional public and the business community
- Managing social media channels – LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram
Candidates with education suit the position
- University education (Bachelor’s degree)
- University education (Master’s degree)
Personality requirements and skillsKEY SKILLS required for this position are:
- At least at least 3 years of previous experience in Communication/Marketing/PR and media.
- Writing press releases, inviting, cooperating and creating a positive relationship with journalists and media experts.
- Able to communicate effectively in formal and informal way, must have professional written and oral communication skills, write reports, press releases and other products.
- Outgoing, motivated and communicative personality.
- Strategic thinking and consultancy approach.
- Creative person who can work independently and proactively and at the same time a good team player.
- Google Analytics

- Filmora, Canva, Abobe Premiere Pro or other visualization tools
- Good command of using social media as Facebook Ad, Instagram, LinkedIn Campaign Manager
- Plus/ Advantageous: Experience in creating marketing strategy of a company/NGO, startup, …

Brief description of the companyThe American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) was founded in 1993 in Bratislava as an independent and self funded organization financed exclusively through the contributions of its members. In September 2003 a new branch of AmCham was opened in Košice to help foster economic development in the Eastern Slovak region. Today it is one of the most active international chambers of commerce in Slovakia with a current membership list containing more than 350 international and Slovak companies, including many of the largest and most important firms in Slovakia.
