Wage (gross): from 2 500 EUR/monthScope: This is a full-time, position based in Bratislava, Slovakia. The office covers European Union member states of Central and Eastern Europe and engages with European institutions across the continent. This position is responsible for managing CIPE's day to day program activities in Central and Eastern Europe. The Program Officer will oversee daily project management and monitoring, work in close collaboration with the Program Director Europe and the CIPE D.C. office to develop and implement program activities, manage information flow and reporting, support business development efforts, and contribute to the development and implementation of overall project strategies. The position reports to the Director of Programs, Europe based in Bratislava, Slovakia. This position is based in Bratislava, Slovakia with occasional travel throughout the country and the wider Central and Eastern European region.Responsibilities and Duties
- In coordination with the Program Director, Europe, oversee and execute programmatic activities related to CIPE's projects in Central and Eastern Europe, including:
- development of materials and resources
- design of program activities in collaboration with local partners
- drafting of proposals and reporting documents
- monitoring and evaluation of ongoing projects
- regular communication with partners and consultants
- facilitation of training sessions where appropriate
- represent CIPE in meetings with local stakeholders as appropriate
- Contribute to the development and implementation of cohesive strategy for CIPE in Central and Eastern Europe.
- Maintain regular communication with the CIPE D.C. team to ensure team members are informed of changes to the local environment and program-related developments.
- Compile weekly narrative reports on completed project activities and progress towards objectives.
- Provide guidance to and work closely with the office's Program Associate.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with peer donor organizations and proactively support Program Director's business development efforts.
- Monitor current events, including political and economic changes, and US relations in Central Europe and assess the impact on ongoing and planned CIPE projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Europe Program Director.
- Adhere to appropriate CIPE and NED policies and procedures.
- Masters degree in International Relations, Business/Management, Economics, Finance, Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or related field required
- Minimum five years professional experience required
- Minimum of three years of project management experience in business ethics, business advocacy or anti-corruption preferred
- Demonstrated strong organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical skills, and communication skills
- Fluency in professional written and spoken English and Slovak/Czech a requirement; Knowledge of other regional languages a plus.
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment across multiple time zones
- Demonstrated ability to develop, establish and maintain good relationships with international partners and donors
- Strong financial acumen and ability to develop, manage and monitor project budgets
- Superior organization skills and dedication to completing multiple projects in a timely manner. Ability to handle multiple, detail-oriented tasks simultaneously with limited supervision. Demonstrated experience with presentations including public speaking
- Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10% of total time)
- Strong IT Skills in MS Office, specifically MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
