We are looking for an experienced Remote Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for configuring, powering up, and commissioning RLS and Waveserver devices remotely. This role is essential for seamless optical network activation and integration. Job offer information

Apply security patches and updates to Unix/Linux servers according to patching schedule.
Perform pre-patch and post-patch checks to ensure system stability.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for patch management.
Collaborate with senior administrators and customer teams on patching windows.
Troubleshoot patch-related issues and escalate when necessary.
Document patching activities and prepare regular reports.
Ensure compliance with security and audit requirements.

Personality assumptions and skills

Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems (basic administration level).
Understanding of patching processes and system maintenance.
Ability to follow documented procedures and checklists.
Strong attention to detail and responsibility.
Good communication skills in English (B1 - able to read documentation and communicate with customers).
Willingness to work during planned maintenance windows (evenings/weekends as agreed).

Nice to have:

Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or similar).
Familiarity with ITIL processes (Change/Incident/Problem Management).
Previous experience in outsourcing or managed services.
