VACANCY NOTICE: Intern - IOM Migration Information Centre / Paid Internship in BratislavaOffice of the IOM in the Slovak Republic is seeking for intern in IOM Migration Information Centre (MIC). The Intern will work under the guidance and supervision of the MIC Manager and in cooperation with other colleagues in MIC.MIC provides information, legal advice and social services to migrants in order to enable their effective integration in Slovakia. For more information about activities of the IOM MIC in the Slovak Republic please visit: .Position Title: Intern - IOM Migration Information CentreDuty Station: Grösslingová 35, 811 09 Bratislava, Slovak RepublicClassification: Intern, Grade OTHEType of Appointment: Internship, three months with possibility of extensionEstimated Start Date: August/September 2019Closing Date: 2 August 2019Core functions/Responsibilities:Under the overall direction of the Head of Office and direct supervision of the MIC Manager, the Intern will have the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance with comprehensive counselling to clients;
  • Assist with regularly updates of relevant data and legal documents;
  • Prepare and analyse counselling statistics, narratives and statistical analysis;
  • Assistance with development of information materials and other supporting documents for target group;
  • Monitor and update the MIC website, including translations, insertion of updates, and communication with website service provider;
  • Assistance with preparation of various visibility materials in form of presentations, photos, articles, or other such as required;
  • Actively participate in the meetings of the project team, as well as attend official meetings and appointments if needed;
  • Act as interpreter/translator (Russian-English) ;
  • Perform general office maintenance tasks including correspondence, market surveys, logistics, and procurement of technical equipment and office supplies;
  • Perform other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:EducationStudents of University Master degree in Economics, International Relations, Business Administration, the Social Sciences, Law, Development Studies, International Affairs or any related discipline.Experience
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to timely understand the Organization's structure and portfolios;
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and professional backgrounds;
  • Proven ability to produce quality work accurately and concisely according to set deadlines;
  • Practical experience of how to multi-task, prioritize and work independently.
LanguagesFluency in English and Russian is required. Working knowledge of Slovak is required.Desirable Competencies:Behavioural
