Job description, responsibilities and duties
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Slovakia and direct supervision of the Labour Mobility and Private Sector Engagement National Officer; and in collaboration with the National Legal Officer and the Migrant Protection and Assistance National Project Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the research activities within the STRENGTHENING COORDINATION ON INCLUSION OF THIRD COUNTRY NATIONALS IN SLOVAKIA project funded by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument and implemented in cooperation with the European Commission's Directorate General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM).Core Functions / Responsibilities:1. Collect and analyse information on integration/inclusion of third country nationals (TCNs) in Slovakia in close cooperation with the project research team;
2. Design and prepare qualitative interviewing as an in-depth data-collection tool.
3. Provide technical inputs on the formulation of the questionnaires and background questions for the semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions and on the development of the sampling design and methodology;
4. Conduct qualitative in-depth interviews, focus group discussions.
5. Identify and participate in the analysis of available integration services at national, regional and local level in Slovakia.
6. Analyse inclusion/integration measures in other EU Member States, select relevant practices and assess the analysis of the selected inclusion/integration measures in other EU Member States.
7. Draft sections of the comprehensive analysis report of the current state of play including recommendations to strengthen the current system and to facilitate the integration of TCNs in Slovakia in Slovak language and a Summary of findings in English language in close cooperation with the project research team.
8. Support the elaboration of the roadmap with five priority measures for an early integration of the persons fleeing Ukraine in Slovak language with a summary in English language in close cooperation with the project research team.
9. Compile current relevant policies responding to the mass influx of people displaced from Ukraine, available essential services to displaced persons/ migrants and services for their inclusion.
10. Identify existing needs and gaps connected with the provision of swift, affordable and adequate essential services to displaced persons/ migrants and services for their inclusion.
11. Identify stakeholders involved in the process of integration of TCNs and review of the national institutional framework on integration (SWOT analysis).
12. Compile and present information on institutional frameworks on migration and integration in other selected EU Member States.
13. Recommend on quick-fixes and effective, innovative and affordable solutions to secure swift access to adequate services in early and long-term integration/inclusion of TCNs.
14. Support the establishment of a single centralized managing body/hub dealing with migration, international protection and integration/inclusion of foreigners in close cooperation with the project research team.
15. Support the elaboration of a feasibility study report with recommendations for concrete next steps to improve the cooperation mechanism and the training of MO and other institutions responsible for the integration/inclusion of TCNs in close cooperation with the project research team.
16. Conduct a presentation on the findings of the research for relevant stakeholders at Advisory Board Meetings and/or national final event in close cooperation with the project research team.
17. Provide feedback and guidance where necessary.
18. Plan, coordinate and conduct capacity building workshops for relevant internal and external parties.
19. Participate in meetings and conferences.
20. Liaise and coordinating with DG REFORM, MO and other stakeholders involved in the project to ensure the smooth and timely implementation of the project in line with the needs.

General Staff (GVI, UN Salary Scale valid for the Slovak Republic since 1 Jan 2009). Step one of the salary scale corresponds to all inclusive fee 1809 EUR per month (income is exempted from taxation).

- Experience in migration in general and integration related issues;
- Good understanding of the research issue as well as relevant policies/programmes;
- Familiarity with the local context surrounding the research issue;
- Familiarity with the academic literature on the research issue or able to draw on expertise of those who do;
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions and non-governmental organizations;
- Previous thematic relevant publications of research reports, studies, academic articles and/or other outputs will be considered as an advantage;
- Experience in working at or with international organizations is advantage;
- Prior Experience in coordinating EU-funded projects to ensure maximum outputs and experience and knowledge of monitoring and evaluation is an advantage.
- Excellent drafting ability.

- Ability and willingness to drive (driving licence B) and travel within Slovakia.
