- Own the UI layer. Define how semantic models, metrics, governance rules, and data lineage are represented, versioned, and navigated in the platform.
- Translate complexity. Turn ambiguous requirements into scalable interaction patterns that work for data engineers and business stakeholders alike.
- Ship end-to-end. Work directly with engineering and product from early concept to shipped product. No handoffs.
- Design for AI. Build interfaces where humans and AI think together: natural language exploration, structured reasoning, governed outputs.
- Research and synthesise. Conduct user research and usability testing with enterprise customers; translate findings into design decisions with clear rationale.
- Defend your decisions. Articulate design rationale confidently across technical and non-technical contexts: founders, engineers, and customers.
- Enterprise design depth. 7+ years of product design experience, including 4+ years on complex B2B software: data platforms, developer tools, or analytics applications.
- Systems thinker. Able to design coherent patterns at scale, hold a large design vision, and break it into shippable pieces without losing the thread.
- Strong portfolio. End-to-end process from research and problem framing to interaction design and high-fidelity execution, on genuinely hard problems.
- AI-first by default. Fluent in Claude Code and agentic design workflows; experienced building interfaces where humans and AI collaborate on complex tasks.
- Collaborative partner. Direct track record of working with engineering through the build cycle, not as a handoff, and making the people around you better.
- Clear communicator. Articulates design rationale precisely to engineers and non-technical stakeholders; invites feedback and adapts without losing direction.
- Background in data visualisation, dashboard design, or developer-facing tools.
- Experience designing natural language or AI-assisted interfaces.
