International Professional (IP) staff on fixed-term, continuing or permanent contract will be able to take up this appointment as a temporary assignment, retaining their fixed-term entitlements. The conditions, including the possibility of a lien on the post, will depend on the status of their post and their tour of duty, and installation entitlements will be limited to those applicable for a short assignment of less than one year.

Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF.
