You will guide a cross-functional squad while staying hands-on in your own craft. Roughly eight hours per week of your capacity is devoted to people leadership and delivery flow; the rest is spent building and operating solutions with the team. You work closely with the Product Owner and, where relevant, the squad’s Lead Engineer to keep business goals, delivery plans, and technical direction in sync.Core Responsibilities (Leadership 20%)Focus AreaWhat You’ll DoPeople Development & Culture
- Run regular 1-to-1s, give actionable feedback, and co-create growth plans.
- Foster psychological safety, inclusion, and knowledge-sharing.
- Approving vacations and ensuring team stability and operational continuity.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies; remove blockers to keep roadmap commitments on track.
- Monitor team operational excellence KPIs and drive continuous-improvement efforts.
- Coordinate with the Product Owner on priorities and, when needed, with the Lead Engineer on architectural or technical considerations.
- Defines criteria for Definition of Ready and Definition of Done for the team
- Supports Product Owner with translating product strategy into a clear, prioritised backlog and release plan.
- Communicate progress, risks, and impact to stakeholders.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to draft job profiles, screen candidates, and participate in interviews.
- Design onboarding plans so new joiners become productive quickly.
- People: Engagement and retention metrics; achievement of development goals.
- Delivery: Roadmap predictability; on-time, high-quality releases; adherence to SLAs/SLOs.
- Process: Improvements in operational excellence metrics and KPIs.
- Talent: Quality of new hires and effectiveness of onboarding.
- 4 + years of hands-on experience in software development, data engineering, DevOps, QA, or a related ICT field.
- Demonstrated mentoring, scrum-mastering, or project-leading experience.
- Ability to build trustful, cooperative relationships with senior technology leadership and peers.
- Strong communicator who bridges technical discussions with business context.
- Comfortable switching between individual-contributor tasks and leadership responsibilities.
- Good command of English.
