Office of the International Organization of Migration (IOM) in the Slovak Republic is seeking a candidate for the position of Project Coordinator. Under the supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) the incumbent will be responsible for oversight, co-ordination and implementation of activities executed within the development of a labour mobility scheme in Slovakia. The evidence-based Labour Mobility Scheme with a fast-track admission, integration and return component would offer a solution to flexibly manage labour mobility to Slovakia, taking into account the socio-economic needs of the country and good practices of other EU countries, while ensuring the protection of both domestic and foreign workers' rights.For more information about the activities of IOM Slovakia please visit: .Position Title: Project Coordinator - Development of a Labour Mobility SchemeDuty Station: Grösslingová 35, Bratislava, Slovak RepublicClassification: General Staff GVI, UN Salary Scale, 1,809 EUR base salary per month, 1,595 EUR net salary per month, salary is tax exemptedStart Date: January 2020Contract type: full-timeType of Appointment: Fixed term, one year with possibility of extensionCore functions / Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Head of Office (HoO), the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of all project/s activities.Specifically, s/he will: * Manage, monitor, oversee and support the overall implementation of all project activities, including management of the external expert team created for the purpose of the project;
  • Ensure planning, organising and developing all aspects of the project in accordance with its strategy, timeplan and guidelines;
  • Oversee and support, under the supervision of HoO, the overall performance of the project team and ensure co-ordination of their activities with external expert team;
  • Check and approve project outputs - research reports and identifie the projects priorities;
  • Communicate with the donor, liaise with all relevant project partners and conduct official meetings with project partners;
  • Attend and/or lead official meetings, appointments and travel associated with the project activities;
  • Establish and maintain the liaison with relevant governmental, non-governmental entities as well as the project steering committee and advisory board;
  • Prepare the project reports and research summaries and coordinate the content of the final outputs;
  • Advise on developments on new trends and policies in the field of migration in the country for successful implementation of projects;
  • Participate in other project-related activities, as needed;
  • Coordinate evaluation and review of the project progress, including financial monitoring of the relevant budget expenditures in order to ensure effective planning of project activities;
  • Perform other duties assigned by the HoO.

Required qualifications, experience and skills:
  • Master's degree in Law, Social Science or related field from an accredited academic institution;
  • At least 4 years of the relevant professional experience;
  • Demonstrated organizational experience in carrying out similar migration related projects or additional relevant studies;
  • Experience in developing and implementing migration related projects;
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, including the ability to develop and implement meeting agendas, events, action plans and projects/programs;
  • Knowledge of migration data collection, the field-based data collection and analysis issues;
  • Background in migration research and extensive knowledge of migration issues, particularly concerning integration, labour migration trends in Slovakia and Central Europe;
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to research a wide range of topics using multiple sources;
  • Qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills highly desirable;
  • Experience in drafting migration research and policy papers for publication will be considered an asset;
  • Excellent orientation in social, labour and migration law of the Slovak Republic and human rights law;
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills with a commitment to provide respectful, culturally-competent communication, including an awareness and acceptance of cultural differences; basic knowledge of diverse cultures and environments; and the skills to adapt communication skills to fit cultural context;
  • Language skills: Excellent command of Slovak and English language;
