Job description, responsibilities and duties
Habitat for Humanity Area Office for Europe and Middle East (HFHI EME) is seeking a dedicated team member to join its Program department focusing on Central and Eastern European region. We are looking for a new colleague to serve as a Projects Specialist. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for implementing multi-year funded projects as part of Habitat's Program Management Unit. This unit drives the project-based operations of the HFHI Europe and the Middle East Area Office in Bratislava (HFHI EME).This position will be based in Bratislava, Slovakia, with travels up to 20% and is open to citizens, residents and those with the ability to work in this country. The employment is anticipated for a fixed period of 2 years with a possibility of prolongation upon available funding and satisfactory performance.WHAT WOULD BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?Projects Specialist will be responsible for implementation of an assigned portfolio of projects funded by donors and will have a key role in project management and coordination tasks within the CEE/CIS Program team.
  • Contribute to the implementation of a portfolio of EU and other funded projects with the aim to ensure effective project implementation, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure smooth execution, timely delivery, and achievement of project goals
  • Participate in the development of project proposals and plans, including working on scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines of the project
  • Manage work packages and tasks of several multi- year and multi partner projects
  • Liase and cooperate with external partners in the projects and coordinate their contribution to the project tasks and deliverables that HFHI EME leads
  • Develop Monitoring Framework for selected funded projects and coordinate the monitoring of KPIs with external partners to ensure project's progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Cooperate with internal HFHI EME departments to ensure effective project implementation
  • Represent the projects on internal and external events
  • As requested, engage internal and external experts to provide technical inputs to key documents/deliverables of projects
  • Support the preparation of accurate and timely reports and other documentation for donors, other stakeholders as required
  • Support project evaluations and learning processes to capture best practices, lessons learned, and ensure continuous improvement

  • University education, bachelor's degree or higher in social sciences, management or related field
  • Proficient written and oral knowledge of English language (B2 level and higher)
  • Working experience in NGO sector and/or international development
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience, minimum 3 years' experience working on projects preferably on a multi-year projects funded by the European Union
  • Experience with working on multi country, multi partner projects
  • Ability to coordinate work and people
  • Experience with development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Ability to monitor KPIs and indicators
  • Computer literacy
  • Are willing to travel up to 20% of the time internationally
